A series of weekly radio shows broadcasted on Radio Transilvania welcoming UBB Alumni to share their opinions on the importance of education. The speakers come from various fields of activity and leverage their professional experience by raising awareness of the critical benefits of graduating complete university studies.
Alumni Days comprises a series of events celebrating our Alumni community in various ways! The event starts with a gala dedicated to recognizing excellence, where high-value alums are thanked and appreciated for their efforts. It is followed by several days of roundtables, meetings, and conferences organized by the Faculties. Sports competitions and social gatherings animate the schedule by inviting University members and their friends and families to spend memorable moments together!
A yearly three-day event that gathers HR experts and recruiters to enable students to gain clarity on their future professional careers. It also serves as an excellent occasion for career counselors in the country to meet with each other and experts from the job market (usually alums of BBU) and share their experiences and know-how, expanding their network in the field.
The event occurs monthly, intending to recognize our graduates' successful career journey and capitalize on their experience by facilitating meetings with the students. We ensure a friendly setting for open discussions, where alumni reveal milestones in their professional expertise and career-related decisions, and provide the students with relevant advice in this respect.
Alumni Teach takes the shape of workshops or short lectures provided by Alumni on specific subjects and specializations they possess. The aim is to discuss issues that do not generally make the object of the academic curriculum but are essential during one’s professional life. A wide range of transversal skills remain untrained or undiscussed due to more immediate interests, but approaching them would make a real difference: entrepreneurship, financial literacy, games of science, etc.
UBB embarked on a mission to increase its contribution to a knowledge-built civilization by harmoniously combining elements of tradition and modernity to create an authentic identity. Since the academic community is highly resourceful, we are already working on a TEDx event application to increase our voice's impact on the community. BBU will host the first TEDxUBB event in Spring 2024.
Talks during the event UBB Alumni Days, online program. Education and culture are getting imprinted with developments in connected fields. This type of project takes the shape of online meetings where overseas Alumni are welcome to pool ideas and considerations about the dynamic changes in education and culture based on their valuable observations of the particularities of their work environment.
UBB helps students develop a vision for their professional path. The program facilitates connections between entities offering on-site or online internships developed or supported by UBB Alumni and our current students. While the students are provided with the opportunity to gain practical insights related to specific jobs, the host entities are gaining access to high value future employees.
Our mentorship programs are a complex instrument of collaboration between an expert and a student, involving professional and personal development elements. It generally lasts 3 to 5 months and can be realized online or on-site. Throughout the program, the student is assisted by a faculty advisor. These programs are great opportunities to enrich the academic experience and refine practical skills for future jobs.
This career orientation instrument involves students observing the responsibilities of a specific job, expert, working environment, etc. The student would spend several days at a particular workplace (online jobs are also eligible), changing it a few times to provide themselves with a basis for comparison. This type of instrument involves lower interaction with the expert, but a career counselor at BBU constantly guides the students in the process.
UBB relies on its students to exert a positive impact on the community. Since the University adopts a Humboldtian style of learning, namely generating science through research, it actively invites the students to get involved or to initiate research projects. Nevertheless, considerable material resources are needed to stimulate students` curiosity and creativity.
BBU students are trained to develop their critical thinking, practical abilities, and spontaneity by participating in global competitions. Under the supervision of Faculty members, they have already registered great successes in previous editions. We aim to make excellence a tradition and encourage further enrollments and winning places in as many case studies competitions as possible, undisturbed by financial concerns.
Alumni Giving Day is a dedicated annual event where graduates come together to show their support for their alma mater by making financial contributions, fostering a sense of community, and enabling educational excellence for current and future students.
